West Side Neighborhood

The purpose of the West Side Neighborhood Plan is to provide a “playbook” for decision making to benefit the neighborhood.  It is a guide for both public and private investment and future activities which will be implemented over a long period of time.  This effort is an extension of the “Envision 2040” Comprehensive Plan.  It is an essential phase toward meeting residents’ needs for a healthier and more sustainable community.

Most implementation strategies will require collaboration among partners, and the plan encourages developing partnerships with government agencies, non-profits, residents, business owners, and other community members.

There are three Committees that are critical to drive this plan forward:

Arts & Recreation

  • Co-Chair:  Jo Etta Allen
  • Co-Chair:  Angela Roberts

Economic & Workforce Development

  • Co-Chair:  Richard Dumphord
  • Co-Chair:  Phyllis McKissack

Housing, Infrastructure & Safety

  • Co-Chair:  Vanessa Logan
  • Co-Chair:  Bill Alverson
